Micellar waters are the best thing that has happened to my skincare regime, ever. These clever, posh, French waters have saved hours of my time. That’s the kind of beauty product I like.
Forget the mantra of cleanse and tone, throw away your eye make-up remover, and don’t bother washing endless flannels – just grab your cotton wool.
It seems every beauty brand has their own version, the choice is endless. To save you wasted time and money we have painstakingly (well, it wasn’t that painful) chosen the best on the market.
1. Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals
There is no doubt that the French brands do these best. Nuxe’s version smells beautifully of roses and is the most hydrating – perfect for dry skin. £14 for 200ml.
2. Bioderma Sensibio H20
An all-rounder coveted by many models and beauty experts. Removes thick makeup with ease. Now also available versions for oily skin (Sebium) and dry skin (Hydrabio). £10.50 for 250ml.
3. Eau Thermale Avene Micellar Lotion
Simple, fragrance free and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. Now available in value 400ml size or only £3 more than the 200ml version. RRP£16 for 400ml, but even cheaper on Look Fantastic.
4. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I’ll be honest, at the rate I churn through Micellar Water, this is my go to budget version. £4.99 for £400ml.
5. Super Facialist Probiotic Micellar Cleansing Water
Relatively new to the market, this water contains Echinacea and Cucumber extracts and is very refreshing. Not sure how or why it is probiotic, but still a good choice for oilier skin types. £6.99 for 200ml.
One other thing, invest in good quality cotton wool pads – double faced oval pads give the best results like these from Boots.
